Uzgorod, September 15-18, 2009, Ukraine


The Division of Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Radiobiological Society, and Uzgorod National University will hold on September 15-18, 2009 in Uzgorod The V Congress of Ukrainian Radiobiological Society

The major goal of the Congress is to promote scientific research, international cooperation and communication in the entire field of radiation biology, from physics to medicine. Progress in the different radiation research topics will be discussed. The program will contain review lectures to quickly apprehend the latest results in radiation biology. There will be also traditional Sections of the Congress for discussion on the novel findings and new results in radiobiology, radioecology and nuclear safety:

  1. General radiobiology (clinical, molecular, cellular).
  2. Effects of the low dose radiation.
  3. Non-targeted effects.
  4. Genetic instability, By-stander effect and radioadaptation.
  5. Signaling, DNA repair, modification of radiation effects.
  6. Combined effects of radiation and other stress factors.
  7. Radioecological aspects of Chernobyl accident and dosimetry.
  8. Radioprotector impacts which are effective under chronic irradiation.
  9. Radiation epidemiology.
  10. Effects of UV-B and other non-ionising radiation.

Congress languages will be English, Ukrainian and Russian.

Venue. The Congress will be held in Uzgorod, in the Conference Halls of Uzgorod National University.

Proceedings of the Congress will be published. Abstracts should be submitted to the Organising Committee not later than April 30, 2009. The Abstract size is 1 page typed using Word 2003-2007 with 1.5 line spacing and Times New Roman size 12 fonts. Each paragraph should be indented (1.25 cm); top and left margins are 3 cm; bottom and right margins - 2 cm. The text should follow heading after one blank line.
