The method for micropropagation of  Artemisia vulgaris  L.,  A. dracunculus  L.,  A. annuа  L. and  A. tilesii Ledeb.  plant  was  established.  Cultivation  of  the  plants  on  MS  medium  supplemented  with  0.5  mg/l BAP + 0.05 mg/l NAA as well as 1 mg/l BAP + 0.1 mg/l NAA have led to 8 lateral shoots formation during 14 days. The polyfructan content and antioxidant activity (AOA) of extracts of  in vitro  cultivated A. vulgaris, A. dracunculus, A. annuа  and  A. tilesii  plants were determined.  A. tilesii  root extracts possessed the highest fructan content, up to 16.9 mg/g fresh weight and the highest antioxidant activity level (46% compared to AOA of 0.1% ascorbic acid solution). The AOA and fructan content of  in vitro  cultured  A. vulgaris, A. dracunculus, A. annua  and  A. tilesii  leaves were found to be 23%, 31%, 24%, 31.7% (АОА) and 7.6 mg/l, 4.4 mg/l, 7.3 mg/l, 8.4 mg/l fresh weight (fructan content) respectively. So, in vitro  cultivated  Artemisia  plants accumulated fructans and substances with antioxidant activity and can be used as a source of biologically active compounds.
